Laura Bellamy launched Blue Sky Jewels in 2002 to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer research. Laura has been designing jewels for fifteen years during which time she has developed a loyal group of private clients. As a graduate of Cornell University she began her career as a Brand Manager with Lever Brothers in New York City. After six years and many new product launches she started her own interior design firm in Connecticut.

Laura has decided to combine her love of design with her passionate effort to raise funds for Breast Cancer research.

In May of 1999 at the age of 37 Laura was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Her daughter had just turned 2 and her boys were 5 and 8. After aggressive surgery and chemotherapy, Laura is determined to help fund research to cure breast cancer. Fighting cancer was not something new to Laura. At 54, her mother was diagnosed with late stage ovarian cancer. She died of the disease after six years of intensive treatment.

What makes Laura different is her passion for living. During the past 3 years she has developed an informational support group for newly diagnosed young women. She regularly attends medical conferences and helps women become their own best advocates for good medical care.
